How to Spend an Afternoon

My Dearest Uncle Tree,
How I’ve missed thee!

I’m happy to know
that the Knight and his Lady
found themselves as before
with a wide open door

for future missives
both public and not
she said she saw it in the stars
who’s to argue with that?

But you took the time
to come back and see
what I’ve been up to
Did you also miss me?

I wish you and she
all the Luck and Love
that is meant for you both
from the cosmos above.

It’s been much too long
since you’ve come to play
in the Vineyard, Dear Uncle
and I must say

that I’ve missed my poetry Muse
and the fun we’ve had
playing with words
both good and bad!

So stop back again
as time allows
and remember to invite me
if you should say your vows!
